Repossessions

Many people have heard crazy stories about repossessions of vehicles or other property or watched television programs that depict such repossessions.  Have you ever wondered if the techniques used were legal or not?  Did you ever wonder if the property repossessed was for someone else's debt?

Collection agencies will repossess property after a default judgment is entered against a consumer.  Often these debts aren't even owed by the consumer (see our page on collection lawsuits).  Additionally, even when collection agencies and lenders may repossess certain property, Federal and State laws strictly control the way repossessions are supposed to happen.

If you believe your property was repossessed unfairly, contact our attorney Jonathan Lowell to discuss your case.
